What is GEDmatch?

We are a genetic genealogy site that allows people to find their genetic relatives. What is unique is that we allow people to upload their DNA profile from over 20 different providers (profiles uploaded from 23andMe, Ancestry, FamilyTree DNA, MyHeritage, LivingDNA etc can be compared against each other). This allows you to cast a wider net in your search for relatives, which may help you in your search. Most other sites only allow you to search against their database. 

GEDmatch accounts are free of charge and this includes many basic genealogy tools, which are sufficient for most users. If you wish to use more advanced tools, you can upgrade to a Tier 1 membership at a rate of $15 for one month, $10/month for a monthly recurring membership, or $100 for an entire year (you would get two months for free in this instance).

Most users get started on GEDmatch with the One-to-Many tool. This tool will return a list of potential genetic relatives for you to investigate. Here is a helpful video on how it works:
